New Media Tuesday

You like Seinfeld? The highly rated show about nothing? Here's your double dose of Kramer up your ass then. Presenting seasons five and six of Seinfeld on DVD. I liked this show, not when it originally aired, but when it started reruns on TBS, and where it still airs... for free.

Polar Express is out. It was out last year around this time in theatres. I guess this movie is labeled as a "holiday film". So I guess that makes it appropriate to be held for a holiday release. It's about some kind of train, that makes some trip to the north pole or something... go read the book.

Yeah, the movie I actually care about; War of the Worlds. True it could have been better, and you knew how it was going to end (please tell me you've heard it by now). This retelling of WotW follows a father (Tom Cruise) and his two children trying to escape the destruction of Earth from an alien race. The effects are great, and I didn't really care for how the characters were handled in the telling of a story, but it was entertaining enough for me to at least see it again, outside of the theater.

Music time. Among the CD releases this week include a new System of a Down album, part two of a planned release of this year. Scott Stapp, formerly of Creed, has gone solo... but most people think he's a dick, and most likely won't buy his album. Sorry Scott.

Fort Minor (Band name or Artist?) featuring Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is released. It is unknown by me what their sound is like, however the album cover screams something LP would do. I'm going to have to do some searching on the internet to hear a song, cause I've yet to hear anything played on the radio. Also, Britney Spears is remixed today on an album called Britney Spears: Remix. Brilliant.

Video games... well Smack Down vs Raw 2006 came out over the past week, so did Need For Speed: Most Wanted. New this week is Peter Jackson's King Kong. Not just King Kong, Peter Jackson's King Kong. I've had a demo for this game for about a week now, I should probably play it someday soon.
