Comic Book Run

Saturday, November 19

Went to Lawrence on Thursday to pick up my comic book stash. Ended up missing Smallville for that night, but that's why the internet is so great.

Not a bad stash. Picked up my weeks old Wizard magazine. I just love reading almost a month's old news.

Picked up not one but TWO Marvel titles. Yeah, go me! My first ever solid title I picked up from them was Sentinel, but then they cancelled it. It broke my heart. Now they're publishing it again, but as a mini-series. Crap to that. I'm still buying it, but they're just playing with me now. And as always, Avengers was a good read.

Out of the great handful of DC books I picked up, only three seem to stand out as good reads (though to fairness, as of writing this I haven't read them all yet). Those books would be Infinite Crisis #2, Supergirl #3, and Teen Titans #29.

I won't bore you with the happenings in IC or Supergirl, but the Teen Titans issue was a nice change of pace for that book. It was more of a Batman book, where in it, almost all the pages were dedicated to a fight between Robin and the Red Hood (Jason Todd, former Robin, formerly rotting corpse). It turns out that the Red Hood wanted to see what makes the current Robin so great, and kind of had this mad on about having BEEN in the Titans, but nobody really seemed to notice, or care even. A bit of a sore spot for Jason.

That's it for this installment.
