The Gravel Pit

Thursday, June 30

I put down some rock today. My backyard is like a parking lot now. Had to wait a bit for it, delivery guy was a bit late. And it was raining like a bitch. Lots of lightning. Really sucked.

My dad came over to help spread it around and found we came up a bit short. We'll fix it up later to make it look nice, but it does the job for now.

Remember to "Click" it

Wednesday, June 29

For my job I have to take the company car up to the Fort to make deliveries. Well, this morning something pissed me off. I pull up to the line where they check your ID and inspect the vehicle. I take off my seatbelt like normal and grab for my drivers license. This morning however they (military police) were checking to see if people where wearing their seatbelts. Of course I didn't have mine on because I was waiting to be "processed". Some military officer with a police sash on comes over and says I need to put my seatbelt on. I'm still waiting in line and I tell him I just undid it to get my license. He says to just put it on and in my head I'm thinking, "Fine, what the hell ever. I'm going to take it back off in 30 seconds anyway.... Bastard."

I go through the normal procedure of checking in, and then when I proceed to drive off, the last guard motions me to the left where I then notice a line of orange cones and to what looked like people writing out tickets. I was not pleased. I get in line and I tell myself I am going to play ignorant... asking "What's this all about", and other questions like I didn't do anything wrong... CAUSE I DIDN'T. But the dude writes one out assuring me that it's not a ticket... just a warning. Ticket or not I was still pissed. I wear my seatbelt all the time, who the hell does this guy think he is, "slapping my hand" telling me "shame on you". I was in a line waiting to exit my vehicle. MERF!

So, remember kids.... "Click It." or Ticket.

Heard today on the radio that the Smashing Pumpkins might be getting back together. That's good news to me. I've liked the Pumpkins ever since they broke up about five years or so ago. Doesn't seem that long ago. Anyway, I've supported their lead singer Billy Corgan on other pursuits in the music business (former band Zwan and a solo project) only to see him fail. Of course he only failed cause Zwan sucked ass and nobody's heard anything from his new solo project. So no wonder he wants the band back together. He ain't making any cash. Heh. I do hope they get back together though.

Big plans for Wednesday. I've got about five weeks worth of comics waiting for me in Lawrence. Lots of reading instore for me there. Gonna have the girlfriend tag along and take her out to dinner and a movie. Take advantage of the day off and get to watch War of the Worlds on opening day. It looks good for what little they've shown. Spielberg is really keeping short reins on this project... teasing people along. "Was it an alien, was it not? I don't know?"..... grrrrrr.....

Thursday I should get my "Birthday Gravel". Yeah, for my birthday (last month for those keeping count) I received five tons of rock for my driveway. So my backyard is going to look like a giant parking lot. Which is what I had in mind for sometime... I just never actually did anything about it. That's all for today. Lata.

I Assure You, We're Open

Monday, June 27

Well, today is the day I open the site back up. A lot of stuff has happened since I've been gone. It seems odd to reflect backwards on a whole month. Here's just a list:

  • Trip to Colorado
  • My 24th Birthday
  • The Crap at the Theatre
  • Finally Watching Batman Begins
  • Leavenworth Friends Birthday/Bowling Night
  • Party in Tonganoxie with my Tongie Buds

And so for the month I've been away, some of you may not know what's been happening. I might type something up later, who knows. I have pictures at least from a few of the mentioned. It's been a nice vacation away from the site. An now I feel I should start it back up again before I end up not posting again and letting it just slide through the cracks. I am taking the site towards a different direction... at least with some time. Originally it was for the Leavenworth gang who used to hang at the Plaza, to catch up on what's going on with people and myself, ever since Aladdin's Castle closed. It can still be that, but I want to expand a bit. What does that mean? Even I'm not for sure, but we'll find out together.

Gjskier23dotcom: The Blog

Monday, June 20

Hello I'm Jeff. Welcome to my Blog.

This is a part of my redesign. As far as my usual postings shall go, this is how I'm going to post in the future, where as the rest of the site will become more than what it was. It is still going to be my homepage, but everything else will stem from there. The site is always a work in progress, so bear with me as the site moves forward.

Welcome to Gjskier23dotcom!
