U2 - "Window in the Skies"

Monday, January 29

I'm not one to post music videos, but I thought this one was pretty good. U2 managed to use old footage of some famous/classic artists and sync them up to this song. Give it a watch, will ya?

Draw Me In... Robert Kirkman Beware!

Sunday, January 28

Over the weekend I managed to talk to Jason Howard, the artist to the up-coming new book The Astounding Wolf-Man. This book looks good, both in art and because I dig most of writer Robert Kirkman's stuff, so I talked to Jason about maybe drawing me in: he said yes.

Whoo-Hoo! After The Walking Dead and whatever issue of Wolf-Man I get into, I might have to change my campaign to Draw Me In(to Robert Kirkman Comics).

Ha... I kid.

Thanks Jason Howard.

Issue #1 of Astounding Wolf-Man comes out May 5th 2007 (a free issue part of Free Comic-Book Day).

Collectively Known as "The Block of Stores"

Wednesday, January 24

Here's a little bit of sad news I picked up from the Viewaskew.com site... for everything Kevin Smith related. I know some people who wanted to maybe take a trip to New Jersey to visit this site, and to be truthful I was hoping to someday to make an appearance... but alas...

And on a final sad note today, it seems that the rumors are true - RST Video will be forever closing its doors on an unknown date. A Red Bank local scooper noted a sign in the window saying "Stores Closed" and saw everything inside being packed up. Quick Stop employees did confirm, but with no further details. It's sad to see a legacy of View Askew go, but a sign of our times in the age of the all-digital video store. We'll see ya next time. .

Heroes - "Godsend" *UPDATE*

Monday, January 22

Picked this up from Herosite.net:

Fans who saw the pilot episode of Heroes at the Comic-Con International in San Diego, California last summer saw a much longer version of the series pilot than what hit the air. This longer pilot included an extra storyline involving nuclear terrorists, and also featured, among other things, a very different wife for Greg Grunberg's Matt Parkman.

Now, this will apparently be on DVD, as revealed by Tim Kring in an interview at iFMagazine.com. Kring talks about the pilot and much more at the link below.

PLUS in it he mentions a line of toys being made! Sounds like I'll have something to cross off my Go Figure list.

The time is finally here... a new episode of Heroes airs TONIGHT (Jan. 22) at 9PM on NBC!

The State of the Blog Address

Sunday, January 21

Hello, It is I... Jeff! Or Gjskier... or Kal... I go by many names. Stu... Stud... the Awesome One...
Excuse me... I'm rambling now.

As you look around you may notice the same ol' site. Well you'd be wrong, cause tonight I made little revisions, tweaking it here and there to my absolute whim.

And I was in a Conan O'Brien mood too so that will explain the two YouTube posts below.

Anywho, I'm glad you visit. Thanks for stopping by. Bye.

Smallville’s ‘Justice’

The much-anticipated episode of Smallville that brings together the show’s version of the Justice League — Superman, The Flash, Green Arrow, Cyborg and Aquaman — debuts tonight at 8 Eastern on The CW. Here’s how the network describes the episode, titled “Justice”:

The Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) sends out for reinforcements and Bart Allan, a.k.a. Impulse (guest star Kyle Gallner), Aquaman (guest star Alan Ritchson) and Cyborg (guest star Lee Thompson Young) return to Smallville to help him take down LuthorCorp’s secret lab. During a break-in at the LuthorCorp facility, Bart is captured and tortured by Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), and Clark (Tom Welling) sets off to rescue him but is felled by meteor rock. An alarmed Chloe (Allison Mack) goes to Oliver for help and the newly formed ‘justice league’ springs into action to rescue Clark and Bart.

If you just can’t wait for tonight, you can watch the first 12 minutes of the episode at Yahoo.

Go Figure...

Wednesday, January 17

Why aren't there figures of the Ghostbusters? Really?

The closest it ever got was a few years ago, NECA released a few figures including Gozer, the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man, and those dog-like creatures (did they have a name?). But no REAL Ghostbuster among them.

Now I'm sure this is all due to some kinda likeness rights thing... somebody is holding out or something. But this would be sweet having Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston with Proton Blaster in hand ready to kick some ghost ass.

Grrrr...

Biggest Loser... I'm On Drugs!

Well, I'm two weeks into this diet competetion here at work, and to be honest I've stuck with my original plan... but I'm thinking that might not be enough to win this thing.

So I'm gonna step it up a notch!

I got's me some drugs. Oh yeah.

Don't get me wrong, I'm kinda watching my diet (better than I have... like ever) and I'm working out pretty much daily here at work... but I felt I needed an edge. So with the help of a good friend I ventured out to my local GNC store and picked up some weight loss pills and some vitamins so at least I'll get my daily nutients and stuff for what I lack in eating on a daily basis.

We'll see if I notice a difference or not in the next two weeks or so.

So far I'm at 5lbs lost. I can do better.

Draw Me In - Ryan Ottley Artwork

Saturday, January 13

So, after being drawn into Invincible #37 I talked to series artist Ryan Ottley about maybe getting my grubby little hands on the actual page. Thankfully he agreed to sell it to me and a week later... presto... a nice sized FedEx arrives with my name on it.

Inside was of course the page I purchased, but some extra goodies included an autographed copy of said issue, plus a bonus Invincible A-K #1 issue. Very nice indeed.

Now I just need to get a nice frame for it.

Biggest Loser...

Monday, January 8

So, with the new year comes a new diet. Again.

I've decided to give up soda again till my birthday come late May. I'm trying to eat less and work out more. But now, with added incentive... I've joined up with a nice group of co-workers for a company "Biggest Loser" type competetion. We've all paid in and at the end of six months the top three "Losers" get a cut of the prize.

Tomorrow is my first weigh in since my start weight. I think I'll be either a pound less or break even. It's a slow start, but I think it'll get better.

Here's to 200lbs or less 2007!

Go Figure...

Well, if Todd McFarlane can do it for ABC's Lost, then let him do the same for NBC's Heroes.

I'm in love with this show and I'd probably buy the whole damned cast. Give alternate heads to Niki for when she turns into Jessica and Hiro for that face he makes when using his powers.

Make sure to watch Heroes as it starts back up Monday's January 22nd.

Also, here's a great "go to" site for everything Heroes: Herosite.net

Merry Christmas / Happy Birthday / Happy New Year

Tuesday, January 2

Here's my post to play catch-up over the holiday season. So I'm going to let you have it.

First off, I had a really good Christmas this year. Probably one of the best in the last few years actually.

And I don't mean with gifts, although things were nice in that department, but how things went going around to the different family stops I made. People were so merry.

Now, as far as things that I got, I got some cool swag, including my fair share of Superman stuff. *ahem* 14 Disc Superman DVD Collection... *ahem*

Wednesday was my girlfriend Rachael's birthday and so after work we went out to celebrate. We went to the Ameristar Casino to eat and gamble. Too bad we didn't come back with lots of money, but we had a lot of fun anyways.

Finally, for New Years... Rachael, myself, and a friend of ours went over to one of her friends house to bring in the new year. We went in pretty early and for many, many, many hours myself and a few others alternated between playing rounds of Guitar Hero and DDR for the PS2. Yes, that's right... I played video games. I had like one drink and ended up infront of a Playstation. Hours of fun. I did pause long enough to bring in the new year.
