Comic Book Wednesday

Tuesday, August 15

Well, better late than never.

I've been reading a lot of extra Trade Paperbacks from a few friends and that too has taken up a lot of my "comic book" time. Anywho... the rundown.

The new creative team on Superman caught my eye with the first issue, and I liked it. This issue however dropped several points. In fact by half. The only points of interest here are bits including Lana Lang and a surprise appearance by Aquaman's daddy Arion. Yeah, I didn't see that one coming either.

Secret Six just isn't interesting. I'm buying it cause I'm a consumer whore.

Finally, it looks like this one will get it right, a solid start for a series starring the Martian Manhunter... oh but wait, it's a limited series... it ends at issue 8. Well fuck.

Green Arrow, getting good. Looking forward to the setups, Winick surprises.

Eh, 52.

Squadron Supreme, I like this book. I do.

Wait, what the hell is this doing in my collection? It looks like the last three issues of Astonishing X-Men. So, um... yeah, I like this book. Really good. And it's a lot better than say... at least two of the now four X-Men titles I collect... possibly even than dare I say...

New X-Men, damn, I like these kids... and nobody has really fought anyone since I've started this about six issues ago. Yeah, there has been conflict, but nothing in yo' face about it. That'll change in next months issue. Heh.
