Comic Book Wednesday - Comic Book Dump

Saturday, August 5

Hello,

I do suppose it's been a while since I've done one of these, actually.. right before I left for SDCC. Since then I've accumulated quite a few comics so here is three weeks worth of Comic Book Wednesday.

52 #11 - Intro Batwoman. She's gay. Ok, fine, whatever.

52 #12 - Intro Isis, another member of the Shazam family. Interesting.

52 #13 - Dude, they just resurrected a scarecrow lookalike of Elongated Man's dead wife, and it was creepy.

Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis #43 - I miss my old Aquaman.

Batman #655 - Another new writer for Batman, and so I give it a shot, but only because it's Grant Morrison.

Birds of Prey #96 - FINALLY someone acknolegdes the fact that Ted Kord (the Blue Beetle) is dead, and it's a sad thing. It only took a frickin year for someone to write it.

Blue Beetle #5 - Alright, it's starting to loose my interest. Best be doing something worth while soon.

Catwoman #57 - Not as strong as previous issues.

Civil War #3 - All I have to say is "Yes!". Some fightin' goes down and the last page has one saying "WTF?"

Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #2 - Ok, so now Bart Allen is the Flash. What the hell? Can we please have some explanation cause the longer this goes on the longer I'm going to be pissed about it.

Invincible #34 - Sweet.

Ion #4 - I'm glad I kept getting this, cause the revelation at the end was a nice one. Kick ass, and thank god.

New Avengers #22 - A nice look at Luke Cage and his stance with the events in Civil War. I'm with Captain America.

New X-Men #28 - This issue flies by quickly as the Xavier school get visited by Ms. Marvel and Iron Man (Civil War stuff). A nice moment arrives with Emma Frost explaining the X-Men's side of things, remaining neutral.

Outsiders #39 - Even though I'm not enjoying this long played out story that's really not going anywhere, this issue has some hints towards a few characters and some "One Year Later" happenings. Which is nice.

Robin #152 - A long over due meeting with Captain Boomerang since the events of Identity Crisis. But we'll have to wait longer for Robin #153 for anything of worth value to occur.

Supergirl #8 - Hey, I'm happy another issue is out, but let's end this arc.

Superman/Batman #28 - Everything in this book is just crazy talk.

Uncanny X-Men #476 & #477 - Everything I learned so far about the Shi'ar Empire is from that Fox cartoon of X-Men, so I'm banking that everything from the show is correct, but so far enjoying the arc.

X-Men #189 - One of my newer titles. It's alright. Still early.
