Comic Book Run

Wednesday, November 1

Figured that I should hurry up and get this done. Real quickies here.

52 #24 & #25: A brief "new" JLA made up of 4th and 5th stringers. Doesn't go to well. Also, Intergang starts making more of a pressence. Eh.

Birds of Prey #99: Story seems to be lagging. Black Canary leaves the team. Bring on something new for BoP #100!

New Avengers #24: A solo Civil War story featuring the Sentry. I like this character, I wish he'd get more play. And speaking of which, looks like he once had a one nighter with Inhuman Crystal. Interesting reveal.

Secret Six #5: I never thought the Mad Hatter could be interesting OR kickass. Yes, he's crazy, but that's beside the point. This series is almost at an end... thankfully! But I hope the NEW Hatter continues somewhere.

X-Men #192: Still not too terrible to quit. Issues are getting better. Good art.

Trials of Shazam! #3: Not a fan of the DCU Magic club, which is the sandbox where this book likes to play in, but over all a nice read. It's becoming CM3's (Marvel Jr.) book now.

The Boys #3 & #4: Issue #1 didn't win me over, #2 was better... #3-#4 are keeping me on this book. These two issues introduced a "JLA" like team called "The Seven" that act more like rockstars. So wrong.

JSA Classified #18: I only got this for the arc featuring Hourman Vs. Bane. I just like it when a hero fights a villian that's not like... their rogue or anything. Plus it's just an interesting concept.

Superman/Batman Annual #1: This book has been more miss than hit. So me being a comic whore anyway bought this book. I liked a few Clark and Bruce moments, but otherwise wasn't digging it. Then I read reviews online that this book was a great read, but what do I know.

Action Comics #844: The Donner has come, and it is good. I still think it's a stunt, but I bought the book anyway so maybe it worked. I've been off Superman for quite some time, but now I'm reading two monthly Superman titles.... three if you count Supe/Bat. Oh, yeah the story of a boy from Krypton... sure... why not. They've already done it in a movie and pissed me off.

Robin #155: Another story arc is over with a few more threads to explore on. I'm not too sure about the writing just yet, but digging on Freddie Williams II, local boy done good.

X-Men: Civil War #4: I don't know if I'll even read this. I shouldn't buy everything. Need to learn that.

Ion #7: I've only read about half of this so far, I can't believe it's been over a week and I still don't have everything read yet.

Flash #5: That means I haven't read this yet either. This issue will determine if I continue with this book.

Catwoman #60: I'll get to it.
