Concert

Thursday, August 25

The music was so loud I felt it in my crotch.

No, don't get me wrong. That's a good thing.

I guess you could say I had a really good time at last nights concert at Corporate Sellout Amplitheatre. On the bill were four bands:

No Address
Breaking Benjamin
Staind
Three Doors Down

Wednesday at work I was constantly worried about the weather. Is it going to rain? Is it not? Well... it did. But not that bad at the concert though... which is good.
First off I started looking at merchandise. Guess what? It's more expensive than the last time I went to a concert. So I didn't buy a damned thing. I might look on the internet for a Breaking Benjamin shirt though. Up above the lawn seat section where booths were set up I noticed one particular grouping interesting. A UPS jobs booth right next to a Verizon Wireless jobs booth. (Only because of my friend Smalls). I got my picture taken with my girlfriend since I didn't think I'd be able to bring in my camera. So that was nice.
I didn't really know who No Address was at first. They played their first radio single and yeah, I remembered it being played. But even before that, their songs rocked. So I'll be searching for their record the next time I'm around CD's. I even went to a signing area around the stage to buy it and get an autograph but they took their sweet ass time (probably playing Xbox or some shit) so I bailed out of line to watch Breaking Benjamin's set.
Now there's the reason I got the tickets in the first place. I love BB. And four songs in they played 'Home', which is the only song I know how to play start to finish on the guitar. Plus that and the song is just cool.
Staind followed afterwards. It started to rain a bit during their performance. It cooled down so that wasn't bad. They played like their new single and one other song off of their new album. Which is great seeing as I haven't been listening to their new album that just came out two weeks ago. Everything else was like a greatest hits album. One year at a Rockfest concert I had seen Staind before and their lead singer Aaron Lewis can really scream, so I was looking forward to hearing one of those songs where he'd cut loose. No luck though. Oh well.
Between sets, we had to wait a hellish long time for Three Doors Down to get their shit together. The stage was covered up with a drop cloth, but you could still see people setting up the stage (which was really elaborate, and not really interesting). Some guy finally came out and announced a 'techincal difficulity'. Yeah, after the band finally DID come out and played like two songs the lead singer Brad Arnold addressed the crowd to appologize for the delay and oh yeah, some guy was suspected of bringing a gun backstage but it was just a false alarm.
The first time I had seen Three Doors Down I didn't actually come for them and left way before they had finished. Well guess what, same thing went for last night. They played a good eight or so songs (not saying all eight were good), and left early to beat the traffic leaving. Yes, I had a great time. There's nothing quite like live and loud rock!
