Shows Coming Back this Fall

Friday, May 30

Just to give you an idea, I've been meaning to post something like this since the 15th of May, it's been sitting as a draft. And so here I am, not posting again. So the following are little thoughts and info about a few shows I really dig and are coming back for a new season later this year!

REAPER: The sleeper hit of the writers strike. I was hoping this show wasn't going to get the axe after the strike ended. It only aired a handful of shows before their stockpile ran out. I feared it would be forgotten. But NO! When the season resummed it hit the ground running. Fast paced stories and several plot twists and turns. It's serious and it's funny. It's Buffy the Vampire Slayer for dudes... that is assuming Buffy is for chicks... cause I never really watched that show. So I don't know. Moving on.

SMALLVILLE: Ah, where to start on this one. Well, it'll have a few cast members coming back as regulars. They would be Tom Welling, Aaron Ashmore, Allison Mack, and Erica Durance are returning for Season 8. Kristin Kreuk will be back for at least a few episodes, but not all of them. Laura Vandervoort (Kara) may return for a few episodes, and if the producers are lucky, may get Michael Rosenbaum for a guest shot or two. It's rumored that the Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, and Braniac may make return appearances.

Two new villains have been announced. One is a female villain that hasn't been identified but would be "familiar to many fans". So mysterious. Oh, and the other is DOOMSDAY. The only character to have killed Superman. So, we'll see how the Smallville universe treats him. I picture something like Bane was in Batman & Robin.

HEROES: This one won't take but a second. Not much to report. Last season was cut short due to the writer strike. Season 2 hits DVD on August 26. The next season doesn't start back up till September 22. Um... hopefully it doesn't suck... next!

TERMINATOR - THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES: There's a title for ya. YEAH! I'm about to make a terrible pun... ready?

She'll be BACK.

Ok, so this show didn't suck. And it replaced Heroes for me during the strike. A tv show based off of movies had lots of potential to suck, but it went in a direction I wasn't expecting... the future. All the way to 2007.

The show is well written and the actors play their parts well. It takes the legacy of Terminator and treats it well. I wasn't sure how they could play off the movies and make a show actually fit, but I don't care, it's become it's own monster.
