Kryptonite Found! OR Holy Crap I Still Have A Blog?!?!
Hello, yes... it's been a while.
I've been both busy AND lazy to type up anything here lately. My bad. I'll be gearing up for a comic book convention here soon. Looking forward to that. Of course I'll do my best to pimp myself out to the various talent in attendance. More on my life later. But this JUST IN!

N + C = Engaged
Thursday, April 12
On Tuesday one of my best friends Nick Albert, one of the "Tongie Guys" whom which I went to high school with, proposed to his girlfriend Celeste. On his myspace page he tells of how he did it, which I must say... awe... Nick, you're such the romantic. You're so sweet!
Congrats to the both of them. I figured it'd be either you or me first. Pressures on!

What Superhero Am I?
So, somebody at work sent me this link to a poll that asks, Which Superhero/Villian are you?
After a long list of questions I found out who I am... was there any doubt on which hero I was? I was shocked and happy. As far as villian.. um... eh...
Your results:
You are Superman

While I Was Walking...
Wednesday, April 11
During my lunch breaks at work I walk a treadmill and watch DVD's, 30 minutes at a time. In this column I review them and finish things off with my thoughts with whether or not I recommend the movie.
I'm almost caught up. This selection brings me to about a week after Casino Royale came out on DVD. I was so caught up in Bond that I decided to watch a Sean Connery 007 film: Goldfinger.
Plot Outline: Investigating a gold magnate's gold smuggling, James Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve.

I picked that one because it's one of the more high profiled of the flicks. To tell the truth, I've not seen too many bond films outside of Brosnan's run. But I'm trying to fix that.
After seeing Goldfinger, at least one thing was made apparent. This movie makes up a good quarter of all three of the Austin Powers films. Mike Myers must have been watching this movie everytime he sat down and wrote a script for one of those films, cause once I watched a scene, that's the first thing I thought about.

Also, a lot of pop culture references, to which I knew where Bond references, came from this movie too. "Do you expect me to talk?" "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die."
I don't know why I shyed away from these films, but I think a few more are in my future.

Biggest Loser
Well crap! The past week was horrible, I ate too many things that I knew I shouldn't have and it so cost me. I gained three pounds in the past week, and it cost me my edge. Mind you, I'm still winning this contest, but from here on out, if I don't get my buffer zone back, it could be closer than I had hoped.
For this, I need to kick my own ass.
I forsee the next couple weeks AT LEAST to resemble something close to a Rocky movie montage with the inspirational music playing in the background and you see me running up steps and jump roping to death.
I WILL prevail!

Draw Me In...
So, a couple of days after I got my appearance in Gargoyles #3, I e-mailed artist Darick Robertson of "The Boys" fame, and got a possitive responce back.
He said, "As long as I can do to you what I want, I think this is a fun idea. I'll let you know when I can do something with your mug."
For those familiar with the book, that first part could be a scary thing indeed. I asked him to "be gentle". We'll see how far that goes.

Draw Me In! David Hedgecock
Friday, April 6
Without much warning, and to my surprise, I found myself in Gargoyles #3 last week. Here's the close up and the whole page in which I appear. I'm the red head running at the bottom.
The artist David Hedgecock was one of the first artists I had presented a "Draw Me In" flyer to at the San Diego Comic-con last year in July. Later e-mails he told me I'd be in either issue #2 or #3.

While I Was Walking...
During my lunch breaks at work I walk a treadmill and watch DVD's, 30 minutes at a time. In this column I review them and finish things off with my thoughts with whether or not I recommend the movie.
I'm still catching up! For this installment I feature Flyboys. A movie that was promoted last year when I was in San Diego for the Comic-con.
Plot Outline: The adventures of the Lafayette Escadrille, young Americans who volunteered for the French military before the U.S. entered World War I, and became the country's first fighter pilots.
This was a long movie and took several long sittings to finish. But it was also a decient movie. There was a love subplot that at times was too mushy mushy for me(a techinical term, yes I know), but it was also nice seeing how well the French and Americans bonded and handled the cultural differences... which they made part of the film.
The kicker for me were the last two dogfights of the film, which I wished I had watched at home instead of an eight inch screen. They were action packed and beautiful to see.
