Until further notice.... goodbye?
Friday, May 13
I think it's safe to say that this blog is on it's way out the door... I haven't the courage to delete this bad boy just yet... but I'll keep it up for now for at least links to the gallery.
I instead have focused much of my attention to my other blog at http://www.drawmein.com/. Which focuses mainly on my online campaign in comic books. I occasionally will pop in and say something "witty" on facebook.
Other than that... yep. Don't expect much more from gjskier23dotcom in the future.
Sorry.

Superman Month!
Friday, September 24
So Six Flags has a whole DC Comic section, which has a gift shop of it's own. I didn't spend a whole lot of money there, but I took pictures. Wanna see what they had?

Superman Month!
Thursday, September 23
So I recently went on a weekend roadtrip to St. Louis where I spent a day at Six Flags. There's a ride there called Superman's Tower of Power... so of course I had to ride it and here is my proof.

I literally just got this not but two hours ago as a gift. This is how my collection grows people.
Can't wait for the day I can set this stuff up in a proper display.

Superman Month!
Sunday, September 12
I'm in a comic kinda mood. So let's roll back the clock to 2007 where I went to the Free State Con in Lawrence.
There I spoke with Mr. Freddie Williams II, who at the time recently drew me into a comic book featuring Superman. Freddie was kind enough to do some sketches, one of which was this sketch of Superman. I need to get it framed someday soon.

Those action figures are from the DC Universe line of toys from Mattel. The top four are my Superman figures, they are from left to right; Kryptonian Suit, Red, Blue, and the modern costume.
I also have the Cyborg Superman (whom is a villain, not pictured) and now realize I could probably group him with these, but am too lazy to do so and take another picture. I totally dig these figures and wish they would put out more of the good characters instead of wasting plastic on crap.

Let's have a Superman party!
Party supplies a plenty, courtesy of Hallmark Cards who has the license currently to make such items. All mint, still in the package. Like I'd actually USE them or anything. They're for looking at silly.

Ola!
This is technically a Justice League item, but Superman is right there on it so it counts!
This greating card (I call it that because I don't know what it says, so maybe birthday card?) was given to me. It's a proof, hence the nifty plastic it's in. A unique addition to the collection.

So, I missed a few days. Let's say I play catch up! What do I have to bring out now...
Like most of the items I have, this was given to me. These are CD's of the original radio broadcasts of the 1940's. It was in these radio shows that the Daily Planet first popped up (where it was originally the in the comics as the Daily Star).
Other familiar firsts to show up in the Superman radio show were Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Kryptonite.
So here's to you radio show! Thanks!

Superman Month!
Wednesday, September 1
Yeah, so I don't do much around here anymore. Look... it's all just storage anymore... posts lying around, collecting dust. I should clean this blog up.
Anyway, my new yearly tradition continues... and I almost forgot about it too! But it's September and that means here at gjskier23dotcom, it's Superman Month.
So here in my computer room I have all sorts of Superman crap lying around. So what better time than now to feature it all. Starting with this thing just sitting on the floor. I got this at the rehearsal diner the night before I got married.
I can't wait to someday have something set up for all this stuff.

Even if you subscribe to the Screenland theatre's weekly newsletter, there's still the chance you could miss a really cool showing of a classic film.
Luckily this wasn't the case when I noticed Monty Python and the Holy Grail was playing this weekend. So Brian, Nate, and myself saw it last night. Good times, great film.

Sheldon's Car
Sunday, March 21
It was the first day of Spring... but the night also brought one freaky ass snow storm.
Driving home late Friday night Sheldon lost control of his vehicle and was hit by an on-coming truck on the passenger side of his vehicle. Below are pictures of his car and the truck that struck him. Sheldon was not injured badly luckily, just some bruises and cuts from the shattered glass.

It Might Have Been Good?

GameTrailers.com claims the following footage is from a never-made Superman game for the PS3. Anything has to be better than the horror that was Superman 64 on the N64.
Hope for Superman!

It's Not Such A Bad Tree, It Just Needs Some Love
Sunday, December 6
When the Christmas decorations started hitting the shelves at K-Mart, I noticed this little puppy and couldn't resist picking one up. I have it proudly displayed in my cubicle at work.

And Now For Something Completely Different...
Sunday, November 29
I just happened upon this guys stuff randomly while on YouTube one day.
I've watched quite a few of these videos by The Angry Video Game Nerd. For the videos featuring games I've played, he totally speaks the truth. On videos on anything else, they're just entertaining. For any gamer I recommend checking this guys stuff out.

Senior Citizen Puddy...
Saturday, November 14
We've had these since around Halloween for my cat Puddy, she doesn't get on (or off) the bed as gracefully as she used to, so we got these "pet steps" for her.
Damned if she doesn't actually use them... it's so cute!
