Guitar Hero - Outcome
Saturday, October 20
I recently competed in a local Guitar Hero II contest. Long story short: I tied for fourth place, where really... there was no "fourth place", but it makes me feel better. I did however NOT get betten by a "young'n", which was what I was hoping to avoid at all costs.
I crushed by my first round and did alright in my second round. Those two rounds cleared out all the scrubs. I could have done a lot better on my third round to which I was eliminated. I kinda choked, cause I was missing some easy stuff and with a crowd around I wasn't focusing. At least I know I could have taken the kid who ended up in third, but that first place winner was good.
I had fun though, and for those I talked to and made it to the final round were friendly. The guy who won, Jake, I found out will be starting at K-mart shortly, so I'll be able to harass him in the future.

I didn't think the bonus songs of the game would be used for competition, so I didn't bother practicing any of them. Turns out that they were used, and the last two songs I played were bonus songs. So that sucked for me.

After the crowd cleared I ended up playing Free Bird on the set-up at Blockbuster. It made me feel better. I knew I wasn't going to win... I'm not that good. I'm just too damn competitive... plus I really wanted a free copy of Guitar Hero III. Oh well, I'll be getting it on the 28th here shortly. Rock on!
