New Media Tuesday - The Better Than Crap Edition

Tuesday, April 25

Well I haven't done one of these in the last two weeks. Frankly, it's been kind of slim pickens as far as good releases. And that kind of holds true into this week, however there's just more of it this time. A quick run down of the crap out this week.

Aeon Flux based on the MTV cartoon that became a cult favorite now has a crappy live action movie to shove into their faces.

Shopgirl staring Steve Martin and Clare Danes is about something, hell if I know what.

Match Point starring Scarlett Johansson is a Woody Allen film.... again... about something. Whatever.

Casanova and Tristan & Isolde, both probably love stories that look kinda not interesting. I'm willing to bet I'll see at least one of these.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children based on a game I don't play nor really care about. But a lot of other people I know like it so good for them. I just don't get it.

Dr. Dolittle 3..... keep on milking it 20th Century Fox. Make us proud.

American Dad Season One, that one show that tries to be like Family Guy from the creators of Family Guy. Too bad it isn't funny like Family Guy.

That's it.

Mike... I "don't get" your suggestion.

But seriously, let me tell you how I go about the New Media Tuesday spots. I'll take a sampling of the major releases for that week and just go over them through a combination of a short synopsis or how I feel about it (whether it looks good to ME or not)... or both.

As far as FF:AC goes, as a person who is not a fan of the video games it's overall presentation just didn't sell it too me. I will say that I have watched a few scenes/clips of it since my original NMT posting and have come to appreciate it's animation. Visiually it's awesome. And a lot, if not all, of the fight scenes were way over the top. Something I just can't stand unless the movie is supposed to be a comedy of sorts, which I didn't think it was.

I wouldn't mind watching it all the way through, just to say that I've seen it, and try to understand just what the hell it's about, intially however it's just not winning me over.

BTW thanks for the title correction, I'll fix that.

First off I got new glasses on April 19th.

From a readers point of veiw, I'm sure people saying bad things about stuff never catches readers attention. That's why I only read about good stuff.

As far as you talking about all things "over the top", I think you've gone a little off the page.

And I'd like to say that I think I'm fairly consistent with things.
