Jeez, Is It the Twenty-Ninth Already? -or- Boys and Girls

Thursday, November 29

So, here I am just sitting at home, off from work today. I decided to take the day off since I didn't really have anything of a Thanksgiving Holiday. Had a nice little gathering of friends over last night and entertained into the wee hours of the morning. It's past 1pm now and I'm still thinking of how to plan my day.

For some reason comics come out today instead of what should normally have been yesterday. I'm sure last weeks holiday has something to do with it, but oh well. Apparently my name appears in the letter column of last weeks Walking Dead, so I'll have to check that one out.

The Fiancee and I put up the Christmas tree last night. Still have some random decorating to do, and damn, is it cold in the house. It really is a good day just to bum around.

For like the past hour now I've been reading through my collection of "Girls". For over a year now I've had almost all the issues, but never read them. But I just can't wait to pick up the next issue as soon as I finish one. I really want to know how it finishes out now.

Exciting DrawMeIn news. I've been talking back and forth now with Darick Robertson, artist of "The Boys". He says I'll be in issue #15, so four months or so wait for that to publish. He sent me a sketch of a scene that I'll be used in. Incidentally, he pointed out he sketched it out before remembering my request, and the character already looked a lot like myself already (minus maybe the hair style). But furthermore, like my last appearance, I'm not going to be just a background character. It even looks like I'll have lines again. My only concern (and for those who know the book) is when he asked for shots of me with "scared and crying faces" so that it would "be helpful in making it look more like you later in the sequence."

What does that mean?

As fate would have it, my webmaster supreme Jeff Stewart just called me, talking about the future of the site. When you read this, thanks again man.

Better go shower before leaving for comics. Have a great Thursday!

How's Your Weekend Going?

Saturday, November 24

This whole Black Friday thing gets worse every year. People waiting hours outside of stores, just to leave empty handed. Mothers breaking out in fist fights over cheap crap. Is it really worth it on a four day weekend?

For most of you out there, you're currently enjoying this wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. For those who work in the retail world however, this time of the year sucks. No, people who OWN retail stores love it, it's the employee's who don't.

And that's where I fit in. On my four day weekend, not a single day off from anywhere. Putting in eight hour plus shifts at my local K-mart. Why don't you people stay home for a change... or go to Target instead. I hear they have some great cheap shit for sale. Happy holidays... bah humbug.

At least this year I didn't piss off a whole family of women. But hey, it's only Saturday so I've still got time.

And So The Dominos Start To Fall

Tuesday, November 20

This morning I checked my e-mail and who but The Boys artist Darrick Robertson sent me a message asking asking me for pictures.
"I think I found a spot in Boys #15".

Thank goodness, the dry spell has ended.

Draw Me In News!

Sunday, November 18

I've got another appearance scheduled! Well, I don't know if it's been solicited yet, but it will be Astounding Wolf-Man #5 by Jason Howard. Interesting enough, this will be the third Robert Kirkman written book I'll have been in, and also, all three appearances happen to be on page 2. How is that happening?

He told me I'm to be in a decent sized panel, running away scared. I'm looking forward to it!

Just to give you people an idea of how long this appearance has been in the works. I e-mailed Jason about my campaign in Januaray. Less than an hour after I sent it, did he respond "yes". The first issue of the book Astounding Wolf-Man came out in May? (I think), as part of Free Comic Book Day. The book is suposed to be shipped every two months. Currently it's on issue #3 with #4 coming soon. So I have a few months to wait at the very least.

I'm just glad to have another appearance on the schedule! WoHoo!

Holy Comics Batman!

Wednesday, November 14

Went to pick up my THREE WEEK STASH of comics today... ended up with 30 comics. I would have had a Heroes Hardcover too but decided to buy that bad boy next time round (thing goes for about $30.00). So here's a "Comics on My Cat.com" pic. Meow.

Guitar Hero on South Park

Last... ah... whatever day new South Park episodes run... heh... they featured and then made fun of Guitar Hero for an entire episode. The episode wasn't bad at all, and was cool that they were dedicating a whole show for the game.... and then they went and did this:

UPDATE: BAH! They took this and every clip from the episode down!

Stupid Copyrights!!!!

It still was a good episode.

While I Was Walking

Monday, November 12

Yeah, I'm still walking during my lunch breaks during the week. I'd love to say that I was keeping the weight off but that just hasn't been the case. I am however still watching movies when I hit the treadmill, and for the most part they're movies I haven't seen before, trying to broaden my Hollywood horizon. Here's what I've watched since July.

North by Northwest
Man About Town
Happy Texas
Shooter
Still Standing
Pretty in Pink
Octopussy
We Are Marshall
Rocky II
Rocky III
Dawn of the Dead (original)
Sling Blade
Shanghai Kiss
Sixteen Candles

Most were great, can't really complain about any of these films... maybe the Bond film was cheesy, but which ones aren't?

Draw Me In

I've been holding off on contacting people here for a little bit because I'm currently planning a redesign of the site, something a bit more professional looking than what I've got thrown together. However, last night I got the bug to contact somebody, and so I did.

I started a new book recently called Proof. The short and simple description of the book would be "Bigfoot working for the FBI". Sure, it's more than that, but that's the hook that gets you to pick up the book. The first issue wasn't too bad, and I'm still waiting for whatever my next appearance will be, so I decided to hit up Proof's artist Riley Rossmo.

He responded like an hour after I sent it saying yes and asked if I'd like to be a villain. Sounds cool. As far as waiting time goes, he said he was working on issue seven, and that would be a good six months away from now. So who knows when I could be fit in. Just so long as I don't have to add Riley's name to my list of other "hopeful" artists. My buzz is starting to go flat without anything set in stone lately.

Engage!

Tuesday, November 6

On Monday, November 5, my girlfriend Rachael and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. But I took it a step further. After being sneaky about things (I won't elaberate here) I proposed to her.

She said "Yes" of course.

Woo Hoo!
